Celebrating 50 in Style

Crisp white linens with dramatic balloon decor created an chic and airy atmosphere for our client’s 50th birthday bash at The Wharf Dockmaster Building. Well Dunn incorporated touches of the client’s Pakistani heritage in the menu including butternut sqaush samosas, tuna tartare on pappadam crisps, and a mango lime mocktail with a chili salt rim. The highlight of the menu was reproducing a family recipe for grilled tandoori chicken with chutney, which was served as the main course.

Driving the Guest Experience

Outstanding performance was the theme of the evening for the Lexus 30 Year Anniversary celebration at the National Portrait Gallery. In keeping with the motif, Well Dunn created food “performance” stations with assorted small plates built to order in front of guests. Station highlights included lobster thermidor, duck confit cassoulet, stracci pasta with white bolognese, shiraz glazed meatloaf with a cauliflower mash as well as sushi and sashimi sliced to order. The evening culminated in a sweet finish with miniature desserts including a Lexus lemon bar with sugar logo.

Eleanor & Sergio’s Wedding

Bride and groom, Eleanor and Sergio, chose The Showroom, one of DC’s trendiest downtown venues, for their fall wedding. Bright pops of color in a modern, all-white setting perfectly represented their fun and eclectic contemporary style. Well Dunn helped honor the groom’s Bolivian heritage with thoughtful touches to the menu including the classic Bolivian Chufly cocktail and passed late night salteñas.

An Evening of Grace & Gratitude

Well Dunn was honored to help commemorate the Horatio Alger Association’s 75th Anniversary at the Washington National Cathedral. To match the grandeur of the space, guests dined at long king’s tables stretching the length of the nave with tall candelabras and gold accents. The five course dinner included chilled scallops with caviar, golden beet tartare, braised veal, and ended with a dramatic baked alaska set aflame tableside.

Eleni & Mark’s Wedding

Romantic accents and lush greenery transformed the Potomac View Terrace for Eleni & Mark’s spring wedding.  The historic building overlooking the National Mall was the ideal blank canvas for custom floral artwork that was echoed in the invitations, dance floor, and warm lamps on the head table.

Indhira & Jason’s Wedding

Native New Yorkers, Indhira and Jason, created their Gilded Age-inspired wedding as a nod to the groom’s internet persona as the ‘Duke of the Bronx.’ The Larz Anderson House provided the perfect backdrop for the bride’s vision of old-world opulence with a twist of modern femininity.
